The U.S. Capitol is under a lockdown after a car crashed into a security barrier near the building located on Independence Avenue. A Congressional reporter posted a copy of the alert sent out as well as video of the police response as seen from the East Front of the Capitol on the House side.

Update via Capitol Police, “CRITICAL INCIDENT: USCP is responding to the North Barricade vehicle access point along Independence Avenue for reports someone rammed a vehicle into two USCP officers. A suspect is in custody. Both officers are injured. All three have been transported to the hospital.”
